The Extended Macros App has been updated to support additional fields. After reviewing the complete list of fields available in the Zendesk support interface and comparing with the actions available in macros, we have been able to add additional actions to support even more use cases. The new actions include the following:
Custom field support: By default, Zendesk macros only support a limited number of custom ticket fields, including drop-down, multi-select, and checkbox. We have expanded the Extended Macros app to include support for text fields, multi-line, regex, credit card, numeric, decimal, date, and look-up fields. Each field type comes with its own set-up and caveats, so please check the full set-up guide for more information.
Due date: Zendesk macros are unable to set the due date field, so we have added additional support for this default field.
Skills: Skills are a commonly used feature in Zendesk, and many users have requested the ability to set skills via macro. Due to the inner workings of skills, our implementation has required some unique workarounds to provide this support.
Custom Status: With the release of the custom status feature in Zendesk, users are now able to create more granular ticket lifecycles. Unfortunately, these have not yet been added as a macro action, so we have added support for this into the app.
Ticket Organization: Users in Zendesk can belong to multiple organizations, but there is no effective way to change the organization of a ticket via macro. So, we have added this ability into the Extended Macros app.
With these new additional field options, Zendesk users can create even more powerful macros than before. Give them a try and see how you can further extend your macros to aid in your workflow.
